The Prime Minister David Cameron also attended a reception at Downing Street on 10 January in celebration of ‘Children In Need’. Hosted by Samantha Cameron and Gary Barlow, the event marked a record-breaking total of £46m raised
Celebrities and leading figures from the business community attended the event and toasted the success of the charity. Three projects that Children in Need hold up as great examples of the charities work were invited and Eclectic Productions flagship project ‘Reprezent’ was one of them.
Eclectic Productions in partnership with Children in Need, deliver the ‘Off the Streetz’ project, which works within schools, giving radio skills training to young people at risk of exclusion from school. Trainees then go on to design and present a show that airs on Reprezent 107.3FM across London on a weekly basis. The Off The Streetz show features interviews, news and seeks the opinion of young people on issues that they feel affect them.
Both presenters in attendance at the reception met Chris Moyles and Fearne Cotton, who gave them valuable advice for a career in the radio industry.
Samantha Cameron told both presenters they do a ‘fantastic job’ and how happy she is that Children in Need can make such a difference.
