Description
30 young people from Southwark and Lewisham will tackle knife crime and teenage pregnancy through Reprezent radio. The group, made up of referrals from Youth Offending Teams and schools, will consult other young people and come up with ways forward to improve life in their community.
Reprezent campaigners will receive accredited training in media production, journalism and peer consultation. They will also work closely with mentors from the industry, including producers from the BBC.
The project runs from Jan – July 2009 and culminates in a public debate where participants will present their findings to the Local Authorities, MPs, the Police and Councillors.
